Headless Rider

Attack Patterns

The Headless Rider combines scythe melee attacks with high-speed motorcycle maneuvers, making it one of the more unpredictable bosses in NTE.

Melee Phase

When close to the player, the Headless Rider swings its scythe in wide arcs. These attacks have moderate speed but cover a large area. The scythe swings are parryable, making Parry Attack the preferred counter during melee exchanges.

Bike Phase

The Headless Rider frequently pulls away from the player to execute bike-based attacks:

• Drift Attack — The bike drifts in a wide arc, dealing damage in its path
• Wheelie Charge — A straight-line charge with the bike raised, covering distance quickly
• Drive-by Scythe — Combines bike speed with a scythe swing for a fast, wide-reaching attack

These bike attacks are irregular and harder to predict than the melee phase. When the boss pulls away, switch to Vita Bud ranged attacks for consistent damage rather than chasing.

Strategy

Recommended Team

Psyche characters exploit the Headless Rider’s elemental weakness:

• Fadia + Haniel + Aurelia — Full Psyche team with strong burst and sustain
• Fadia + Haniel + Ranged Flex — Include a ranged character for bike phase coverage

Rewards

Drops Psyche-type enhancement materials. The Anomaly Commission version at higher difficulty levels provides advanced ascension materials for Psyche characters.
